The DJ TechTools Chroma USB Drive MK2 512GB Cloud White provides generous storage for extensive DJ libraries, with USB 3.2 memory selected for rekordbox and Engine DJ exports. Dual USB-A and USB-C connectors, FAT32 formatting and locking metal covers support regular use, with a protective case and lanyard included.
DJ TechTools Chroma USB Drive MK2 512GB – USB-A & USB-C DJ Drive in Cloud White
The DJ TechTools Chroma USB Drive MK2 512GB Cloud White combines generous storage for your DJ music collection with a distinctive white finish. Designed for preparing, transporting and performing with exported libraries, it features USB 3.2 memory selected for DJ transfers, dual USB-A and USB-C connectors, and durable zinc-alloy construction.
This 512GB Cloud White version offers twice the advertised storage capacity of the 256GB model and four times that of the 128GB version. It provides more room for tracks, playlists and library information, while its lighter finish helps distinguish it from darker drives in your collection.
More Storage for Extensive DJ Libraries
The 512GB capacity suits DJs who carry a broad selection of music across multiple genres, prepare playlists for different venues and events, or want additional space for uncompressed audio files.
The number of tracks it holds depends on their length, audio format and file size, alongside the space used by exported library data. Choose your capacity around the collection you intend to export, allowing room for future additions and the manufacturer’s recommended free space.
Designed for rekordbox and Engine DJ Exports
A DJ library export involves more than copying music files. Your software also checks and updates playlists, cue points, metadata and track analysis information.
DJ TechTools selected the Chroma Drive’s memory for these numerous smaller-file operations, making it suitable for preparing and updating libraries in rekordbox and Engine DJ. Its USB 3.2 interface supports fast transfers, although actual export times depend on your computer, USB connection, software, library size and the files being updated.
Dual USB-A and USB-C Connectivity
Both USB-A and USB-C connectors are built into the Chroma Drive MK2, allowing direct connection to compatible computers and DJ equipment without a separate connector adapter.
USB-A supports compatible established media players, standalone systems and computers, while USB-C provides convenient connectivity with compatible laptops, mobile devices and newer DJ hardware. DJ TechTools reports testing with Pioneer DJ and Denon DJ all-in-one systems and media players.
Before choosing a 512GB drive for your setup, check your equipment’s supported drive capacities, storage formats, audio formats and library requirements. Prepare your library using the appropriate DJ software before performing.
Pre-Formatted FAT32 for Broad Compatibility
The drive arrives pre-formatted as FAT32 for broad DJ equipment compatibility, including older players. Equipment-specific capacity and library limits still apply.
FAT32 has an individual file-size limit of approximately 4GB. The 512GB storage capacity increases the total space available but does not increase this per-file limit.
DJ TechTools recommends leaving 10–15% of the drive free to help avoid library issues. Keep a separate backup of your music collection and exported performance library.
Locking Metal Covers Protect Both Connectors
Each connector sits beneath an attached rotating metal cover that locks into position. Open the end you need while keeping the unused connector protected.
The covers remain attached to the drive, so there is no separate cap to leave behind in the DJ booth or lose inside your equipment bag.
Cloud White Finish and Zinc-Alloy Housing
This variant features a Cloud White baked paint finish over a zinc-alloy body. Choose it if you prefer a lighter appearance or want to distinguish this drive from other colours used for performance libraries and backups.
DJ TechTools describes endurance testing that includes extended DJ sessions, repeated connector insertion and removal, and demanding heat and dust conditions. A built-in keyring loop provides an additional attachment point for carrying the drive.
Protective Case and Lanyard Included
A protective case and lanyard are supplied with the Chroma Drive MK2, giving you practical options for carrying it between home, studio and venues. The drive also includes a one-year manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects.
Who Is It For?
Ideal for club, mobile and wedding DJs preparing extensive libraries in rekordbox or Engine DJ, particularly those carrying music across multiple genres or using larger audio files. Choose the 512GB Cloud White version if you need more storage than the 256GB model provides, prefer a white finish and your equipment supports this capacity.

DJ TechTools Chroma USB Drive MK2 512GB Cloud White FAQs
Which capacity and colour is this Chroma Drive?
This listing is for the DJ TechTools Chroma USB Drive MK2 with 512GB capacity in Cloud White. A protective case and lanyard are included.
Should I choose the 256GB or 512GB version?
Choose according to the size of your exported library, future storage needs and equipment compatibility. The 512GB version offers twice the advertised capacity of the 256GB model, making it useful for extensive collections or more uncompressed audio files. Allow for the manufacturer’s recommendation to leave 10–15% free.
Does Cloud White perform differently from the other colours?
The colour finish is the difference between the same-capacity Chroma Drive MK2 variants. This 512GB Cloud White version offers USB 3.2 memory selected for DJ exports, dual USB-A and USB-C connectors, FAT32 formatting and locking metal covers.
Does it work with rekordbox and Engine DJ?
Yes. The Chroma Drive’s memory is selected for the file operations involved in exporting and updating rekordbox and Engine DJ libraries, including tracks, playlists, cue points and analysis information.
Can I use the 512GB drive with Pioneer DJ, AlphaTheta and Denon DJ equipment?
The Chroma Drive is designed for compatible USB-equipped DJ players and standalone systems. DJ TechTools reports testing the range with Pioneer DJ and Denon DJ equipment. Check your specific player’s support for 512GB drives, storage formats, audio formats and exported libraries before use.
Does it connect to USB-A and USB-C devices, including laptops and phones?
Yes. Both connectors are built into the drive. You can connect it directly to compatible computers and DJ equipment without a separate connector adapter. Phone access requires support for external USB storage and also depends on the device’s operating system and apps.
How much music can the 512GB version hold?
The number of tracks depends on their length, audio format and file size, alongside the space used by exported library information. For comparable files, 512GB offers approximately twice the storage room of 256GB and four times that of 128GB. Usable capacity shown by your computer will differ from the advertised figure.
Is the 512GB drive supplied as FAT32, and what is the file-size limit?
Yes. It arrives pre-formatted as FAT32. FAT32 has an individual file-size limit of approximately 4GB, even on a 512GB drive. The larger capacity increases total storage space, not the maximum size of an individual file. Check your player’s requirements before changing the file system.
How much space should I leave free?
DJ TechTools recommends leaving 10–15% of the drive free to help avoid library issues. For the advertised 512GB capacity, this is roughly 51–77GB. Apply the percentage to the usable capacity shown by your computer when managing your storage.
Will the 512GB version export faster than a smaller capacity?
A larger capacity does not guarantee faster exports. The Chroma Drive uses USB 3.2 memory selected for DJ library transfers, but actual export times depend on your computer, USB connection, software version, library size and the files being checked or updated.
What is the drive made from, and what accessories are included?
The drive has a zinc-alloy housing with a Cloud White baked paint finish and a built-in keyring loop. Both connectors have attached locking rotating metal covers, with no separate cap to lose. A protective case and lanyard are included.
Does the 512GB Cloud White Chroma Drive include a warranty?
Yes. DJ TechTools provides a one-year manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects. Keep your proof of purchase and contact DJ Superstore if you need assistance with a drive purchased from us.
