DJ TechTools Chroma USB Drive MK2 1TB – Cloud White

DJ TechTools Chroma USB Drive MK2 1TB – USB-A & USB-C DJ Drive in Cloud White

The DJ TechTools Chroma USB Drive MK2 1TB Cloud White combines substantial storage for your DJ music collection with a distinctive white finish. Designed for preparing, transporting and performing with exported libraries, it features USB 3.2 memory selected for DJ transfers, dual USB-A and USB-C connectors, and durable zinc-alloy construction.

This 1TB Cloud White version is the largest capacity in the Chroma Drive MK2 range. It offers additional room for tracks, playlists and exported library information, while its lighter finish helps distinguish it from darker drives used for performance libraries and backups.

Substantial Storage for Extensive Music Collections

The 1TB capacity suits DJs with large collections spanning multiple genres, extensive event playlists or substantial libraries of uncompressed audio files.

It provides approximately 1,000GB of advertised storage. The number of tracks it holds depends on their length, audio format and file size, alongside the space used by exported library data.

Choose your capacity around the collection you intend to export, allowing room for future additions and the manufacturer’s recommended free space. Your computer may display a different capacity because of formatting and the units used to report storage.

Designed for rekordbox and Engine DJ Exports

A DJ library export involves more than copying music files. Your software also checks and updates playlists, cue points, metadata and track analysis information.

DJ TechTools selected the Chroma Drive’s memory for these numerous smaller-file operations, making it suitable for preparing and updating libraries in rekordbox and Engine DJ. Its USB 3.2 interface supports fast transfers, although actual export times depend on your computer, USB connection, software, library size and the files being updated.

Dual USB-A and USB-C Connectivity

Both USB-A and USB-C connectors are built into the Chroma Drive MK2, allowing direct connection to compatible computers and DJ equipment without a separate connector adapter.

USB-A supports compatible established media players, standalone systems and computers, while USB-C provides convenient connectivity with compatible laptops, mobile devices and newer DJ hardware. DJ TechTools reports testing the Chroma Drive range with Pioneer DJ and Denon DJ all-in-one systems and media players.

Before choosing a 1TB drive for your setup, check your equipment’s supported drive capacities, storage formats, audio formats and library requirements. Prepare your library using the appropriate DJ software before performing.

Pre-Formatted FAT32 for Broad Compatibility

The drive arrives pre-formatted as FAT32 for broad DJ equipment compatibility, including older players. Equipment-specific capacity and library limits still apply, so FAT32 formatting alone does not guarantee support for a 1TB drive on every player.

FAT32 has an individual file-size limit of approximately 4GB. The 1TB capacity increases the total storage space available but does not increase this per-file limit.

DJ TechTools recommends leaving 10–15% of the drive free to help avoid library issues. Keep a separate backup of your music collection and exported performance library.

Locking Metal Covers Protect Both Connectors

Each connector sits beneath an attached rotating metal cover that locks into position. Open the end you need while keeping the unused connector protected.

The covers remain attached to the drive, so there is no separate cap to leave behind in the DJ booth or lose inside your equipment bag.

Cloud White Finish and Zinc-Alloy Housing

This variant features a Cloud White baked paint finish over a zinc-alloy body. Choose it if you prefer a lighter appearance or want to distinguish this drive from other colours in your collection.

DJ TechTools describes endurance testing that includes extended DJ sessions, repeated connector insertion and removal, and demanding heat and dust conditions. A built-in keyring loop provides an additional attachment point for carrying the drive.

Protective Case and Lanyard Included

A protective case and lanyard are supplied with the Chroma Drive MK2, giving you practical options for carrying it between home, studio and venues. The drive also includes a one-year manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects.

Who Is It For?

Ideal for club, mobile and wedding DJs preparing extensive libraries in rekordbox or Engine DJ, particularly those carrying a broad music collection or using larger audio files. Choose the 1TB Cloud White version if you need more room than the 512GB model provides, prefer a white finish and your equipment supports this capacity.
